Embarking on your first cosmetic treatment, exploring a new procedure or aesthetic clinic can feel daunting. Despite the growing popularity of skincare and anti-ageing treatments, the importance of careful consideration and preparation cannot be overstated. From pre-treatment care to aftercare, and understanding downtime and maintenance requirements, there’s a lot to consider. At The Lovely Clinic, we’ve tailored a comprehensive patient journey to provide guidance and support at every stage. Right from your initial contact with us, our aim is to ensure that you feel fully informed, confident, and well-cared for every step of the way.
First Steps
Check Availability & Make A Booking
Your journey begins with a friendly conversation via phone with one of our experienced receptionists. Let us know which treatment(s) you are interested in and share any initial questions or concerns, before selecting your appointment time for an in person or online consultation with one of our doctors. Our doctors have set consultation and treatment schedules. Dr. Sarah Tonks is available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, while Dr. Kishan Raichura holds clinic on Wednesdays, and Mr. Euan Mackinnon on Sundays.
Note: Any of our patients can request an exploratory call at any stage of their treatment journey. It can be a helpful way to discover our latest treatments or discuss your progress to date.
Paperwork
Before having a consultation with our doctors we’ll send you a little bit of admin. This includes telling us about your medical history and cosmetic preferences to help us understand your goals.
Initial Consultation
Doctor-led treatments require a consultation, which can be conducted virtually or in person at our aesthetic clinic on the cusp of Knightsbridge and Chelsea in London. If you can’t make it into our aesthetic clinic in person for your consultation, we ask you to send in some recent selfies from a few different angles to help our doctors assess your features remotely. During the consultation the doctor will conduct an in-depth analysis of your skin, suggest relevant treatment options that align with your treatment goals and may take some images using our specialised equipment to document your journey at The Lovely Clinic.
Note: A consultation fee of £150 will be charged for all doctor consultations and this is fully redeemable against any treatments booked at our aesthetic clinic within 3 months of your consultation date.
Treatment Plan
Your personalised treatment plan contains information, schedules and pricing options for all of the relevant treatments discussed in your initial consultation and this will be emailed to you following your appointment. We’ll keep this plan updated and resend it, as needed, based on any further discussions or treatments. You may also receive a skincare plan from our brand-agnostic skincare concierge service, GetHarley. Once you’ve booked your treatments, we’ll send you the necessary consent and pre-care forms to complete and return before your session or on the day you visit the clinic.
The Day Of Your Treatment At Our Aesthetic Clinic
- Check-in at reception 10 minutes before your appointment, or 30-60 minutes prior if you would like to have some topical anaesthetic cream applied.
- Relax until your appointment begins.
- All consent forms will be checked by our reception team and any outstanding documents can be completed, assistance is available when filling in any final details.
- If your initial consultation took place online then we’ll take a fresh set of images using our specialised equipment before any treatment takes place.
- Ideally always arrive makeup-free for efficiency but if this is not possible for any reason you can remove your makeup and thoroughly cleanse your skin before treatment.
Aftercare
Post-treatment advice will vary depending on the treatment that you have chosen. Even if you’ve undergone aesthetic treatments in the past, it’s important to follow the guidance of your doctor, as the aftercare may be different. For example, you are required to avoid sun exposure following a chemical peel as new skin cells are more vulnerable to damage and hyperpigmentation.
By following the specific aftercare instructions provided by our aesthetic clinic, you will achieve the best outcome and minimise any potential complications. We always provide this advice verbally and in a follow-up email after you’ve checked out. This way, you’ll always have a handy guide to refer back to. Remember, we’re just an email or phone call away if you need a refresher or if you have any concerns or questions. Your doctor may also supply you with personalised skincare suggestions to ensure that your treatments last as long as possible and work their magic.
