Exosomes for Hair

Turbocharge next-level lustrous hair

A major movement in haute hair and skincare, exosomes are extracted from stem cells which, when applied to the body in conjunction with other treatments, can turbocharge rejuvenation, including accelerating healthy hair growth. Consider them the new byword in next-level regeneration.

Dr Sarah Tonks says...

“A real challenger to PRP, exosomes therapy is amazing for people who have already embraced regenerative treatments. It’s rare to see something so truly innovative in medi aesthetics – and this is it.”

What are they and how do they work?

Exosomes are small vesicles (sacks) generated by animal or plant cells (at TLC, ours are derived from roses) containing a variety of growth factors, including proteins, peptides, lipids, and amino acids, which boost collagen levels, encouraging skin regeneration and hair growth.

Often referred to as ‘the signalling messengers from stem cells’ and therefore only a tiny fraction of the size of a cell itself, they’re able to move through the body with ease, playing a pivotal role in regenerating the body from within. Our exosomes are premade to a medical-grade standard in Korea and, when focused on the hair, are administered in conjunction with microneedling to penetrate the body, or via cutting-edge, award-winning cryotherapy device TargetCool, which can also ‘push’ fluid such as exosomes preparations into the uppermost layers of the skin (think infusion rather than insertion). In some instances, we may use a combination of both microneedling and TargetCool; TargetCool will be used to calm the needled skin, and increases the penetration of any product placed onto it.

For the hair therapy, each vial contains 10 billion exosomes, including B vitamin Biotin, copper tripeptides, 10 growth factors and 30 nutrients.

Which body parts are they designed for?

Aside from being used on the hair to supercharge fatigued locks, exosomes are exceptional for the skin (most commonly neck, chest, hands – see here for the main Exosomes treatment page).

Who are they primarily good for?

Exosomes are a brilliant beauty booster for all, but are particularly good for people who are losing hair or experiencing thinning.

How long will they last for and what’s the downtime?

Any downtime with exosomes directly correlates to the accompanying procedure, but their anti-inflammatory properties almost always mean a reduction in any redness or irritability that would usually be experienced.

Results from exosome therapy (advised as a course of five sessions over one to three months) can last for as long as six to eight months.

Please note that all treatment responses and recovery times are dependent on the individual patient.

What other treatments do they work well with?

What else should I know?

Exosomes are considered an extremely safe aesthetic treatment, but some clients will prefer PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Therapy for Hair, where the regenerative power comes directly from a formulation that’s made from the patient’s own body (blood).

EXOSOMES ARE A BRILLIANT BEAUTY BOOSTER FOR EVERYONE, AND ARE RENOWNED FOR TURBOCHARGING SKIN – BUT THEY ARE ALSO PARTICULARLY GOOD FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE LOSING THEIR HAIR OR EXPERIENCING THINNING.
