HALO®

Double-duty glow: skin tightening and retexturing in one go

A pleasingly weighty laser treatment designed to tackle stubborn conditions as diverse as scarring, wrinkles and large pores, Halo’s unique combination of ablative and non-ablative beams go both surface level and deep dive, retexturing as they tighten. For those aged 35+ it’s a stellar therapy for healthy skin ageing.

What is it and how does it work?

HALO® is a smart Hybrid Fractional Laser treatment that’s more in-depth than (but highly compatible with) its companion treatment BBL® HEROic, because it’s designed to deliver a weightier result – redressing more obstinate or deep-seated skin conditions, such as scarring or lesions, as well as wrinkles, fine lines, sun damage and large pores, alongside battling dull skin. Simultaneously resurfacing and tightening the skin, HALO® uses both ablative and non-ablative wavelengths. Ablative lasers remove the top layer of skin, while non-ablative ones heat the underlying tissue without harming the surface to produce new collagen (its fractionated ablative laser means only small parts of the surface are vapourised) to fully overhaul the target area.

A special handpiece, which is run over the skin, features proprietary real-time skin mapping and measuring software to help deliver ultra-precise heat delivery, making it highly customisable to any individual.

Patients will need to apply a topical anaesthetic an hour before treatment.

Which body parts is it designed for?

Suitable for almost anywhere on the body and face, HALO® is considered an excellent catch-all for anyone aged 35+ looking to improve the texture and radiance of their skin. Full body treatments with HALO® are an increasingly popular form of maintenance.

Who is it primarily good for?

While the exfoliation shouldn’t be considered extreme, it’s ideal for patients aged 35+ as the deeper levels of retexturing make it a little too harsh for most younger skin, unless there is significant sun damage. Patients in their 50s, 60s and 70s may see a significant reversal of more extreme skin conditions.

How long will it last for and what’s the downtime?

With proper skin protection, the results can last for years, thanks to the treatment’s triggering of additional collagen and elastin production.

The average downtime ranges from two to 10 days depending on the depth of treatment, with patients usually advised to take a course of two treatments, with a following one to two per year thereafter.

What other treatments does it work well with?

What else should I know?

Treated skin may mildly flake away for a while. but it is possible to wear make-up as early as two days after treatment, making it an ideal low-downtime treatment for sun-damaged skin.
