Hormone Testing: What’s The Best Way To Do It?

Hormone Testing: What’s The Best Way To Do It?

Hormones are an essential building block of our bodies and have a huge effect on how we feel. Yet with so much advice out there, it’s hard to know which hormone testing option is the one for you.

At The Lovely Clinic we pride ourselves on using the best technology and scientific research for the benefit of our patients. That’s why we use the DUTCH test (dry urine test for comprehensive hormones) for hormone testing, an in-depth way to look at hormones and how they’re behaving in your body.

The best thing about the DUTCH test is that it’s a urine test, so eliminates the need for a blood test (that means no scary needles!). And even though we’re not looking at your blood profile, a urine test is just as good a marker for how your hormones are behaving – if not better.

We recommend the DUTCH test to patients who feel hormonally imbalanced. Hormones being out of kilter can give you symptoms like unexplained weight gain, skin problems like adult acne, lack of energy and even changes in libido. If any of these sound familiar, it could be your hormones.

For patients with conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome, or those who are premenopausal, the DUTCH test can give us a fantastic insight into the level of your hormones and how they’re interacting in your body. Based on this knowledge, we can then help create a hormone treatment plan for you.

The DUTCH test is also brilliant for our male patients who are experiencing male menopause (andropause) or other symptoms like sexual dysfunction and fatigue, and also gives us a vitamin profile so we can highlight any deficiencies you might have.

Once we have the results from your test, we can work out a plan suited to you. Our doctors at the clinic are trained in hormonal therapy and we use hormones that are plant-based yet mimic the way they would naturally act in your body. We’d never use anything synthetic to get you back to normal.

If you think any symptoms you’re experiencing are hormone-related, book a consultation with us so we can discuss a testing and treatment plan for you. We all want to look and feel our best and if your hormones are out of whack, let’s figure them out to get you feeling fabulous again.
