How We Prepare For A Platelet-Rich Plasma Treatment At TLC

We have invested in two platelet-rich plasma-producing devices: the Arthrex ACP and the Angel. These machines are helping us revolutionise our services at The Lovely Clinic so that we can give our patients the best possible treatments to help them look (and feel!) fantastic. Platelet-rich plasma, also known as the vampire facial, is a futuristic way to rejuvenate the skin, taking advantage of your body’s natural ability to regenerate itself by using your own blood cells. It may sound scary but the treatment is very simple – after taking a small amount of your blood, we then spin it in a centrifuge and collect the nutrient-rich plasma before injecting it exactly where it is needed. We love it for treating the delicate skin around the eyes, and it is excellent for any hair loss too. PRP is generally good for improving small lines and wrinkles, sun damage and dark circles, so it’s a treatment we’re really championing at TLC! Here, we share some insight into our wonderful PRP machines so you can learn more about how they work.

ANGEL

Using light to separate the blood, the Angel has the ability to produce extremely concentrated PRP and this is particularly helpful for creating solutions for hair transplant surgery and also in patients who require large volumes of PRP.

Why we love it: We can use this machine to make a gel-like substance with your PRP which we often inject under the eyes. This is a successful and advanced way to fill an area with lost volume, without using any filler.

ARTHREX ACP

The Arthrex ACP machine is much quicker and more widely used clinically due to the faster results. We often refer to it as our ‘workhorse’ as we use it day in, day out with excellent results.

Why we love it: This machine only requires 15ml of blood to produce PRP (compared to the Angels 60ml) and takes just five minutes to produce a high-quality result.
