Muscle-Relaxing Injectables for Hyperhidrosis

Reduce the discomfort of excessive sweat

Aside from their more well-known use as a wrinkle preventing facial re-setter, Advanced Muscle Relaxing Injectables also offer a superb route to reducing the common complaint of excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis).

Dr Sarah Tonks says...

“Getting rid of excess sweat, more common than most people think, is an extremely satisfying procedure, because of the level of social anxiety it triggers, and the irritation caused to the surrounding skin. For many people, this can be a life-changing turning point.”

What is it and how does it work?

Advanced Muscle-Relaxing Injectables aren’t solely for eliminating frown lines and wrinkles, the injections can also brilliantly serve those suffering with hyperhidrosis by preventing the relevant neurotransmitters from sending sweat messages to the glands in the skin, halting perspiration production.

The injectable is administered into the top layer of the skin to safely paralyse the chemical responsible for activating over-production in the sweat glands for as long as six months, providing a soothing hiatus for clammy armpits (or for whichever area of the body is being treated).

Which body parts is it designed for?

While Advanced Muscle Relaxing Injectables can be used on the face, neck and jawline, as well as the legs (and as part of stress-relieving therapy for people predisposed to grinding their teeth when anxious or asleep), this specific treatment is dedicated to preventing excessive underarm sweat.

The TLC doctors will be happy to discuss a comparable treatment for any patients suffering with a similar condition on the face, hands, groin and/or feet.

Who is it primarily good for?

This treatment is suitable for anyone over the age of 18, but can only be performed following a full consultation with one of our highly trained TLC doctors or nurses to assess suitability.

How long will it last for and what’s the downtime?

Advanced muscle relaxing injectables are renowned for their lack of downtime and typically last for six months when focused on the sweat glands.

Please note that all treatment responses and recovery times are dependent on the individual patient.

What other treatments does it work well with?

What else should I know?

Due to the involvement of prescription-only medicines, these treatments can only be performed alongside full guidance from a TLC doctor or nurse.

Avoid any laser hair removal or shaving in the injection site two days prior to the appointment.

FAQS

Here are a few final things that you might like to know before taking things forward. If you have any other questions we haven’t thought of yet, no problem! Please email us at hello@thelovelyclinic.co.uk and one of the team will get back to you as quickly as they possibly can.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The process of relaxation works by blocking the signals connecting body’s the nerves to glands to prohibit the excessive production of sweat.

IS IT VEGAN?

Our injectables don’t contain any animal products, but are composed of a tiny amount of human serum albumin (a protein found in the blood).

DOES IT HURT?

You can expect a sharp scratch at the point of injection, but discomfort is minimal.

WHEN DOES IT START TO WORK?

The effect usually emerges from three to five days, reaching its full impact between two and three weeks – so, if you have a special event to attend, it’s important to plan accordingly. We advise scheduling a treatment one month prior to a big occasion, so there’s ample time to make any adjustments.

CAN I REVERSE THE TREATMENT?

There is no antidote, but the effects do reverse over time as the treatment wears off.

WHAT CAN GO WRONG?

Problems associated with Advanced Muscle Relaxing Injectables include bruising.
