Ultherapy VS ULTRAcel Q+ – Which Is Right For Me?

Ultherapy VS ULTRAcel Q+ – Which Is Right For Me?

Both weight loss and the natural ageing process can result in one unwanted side effect – sagging skin. Many treatments claim to correct the appearance and texture of lax skin, although few succeed. Whilst creams and lotions go some way towards improving hydration levels and making the skin feel soft to the touch, they do little to firm the skin (although their cleverly worded marketing campaigns may lead you to believe otherwise). The Lovely Clinic offers two new treatments, which use the latest in body contouring technology to reverse skin laxity – Ultherapy and ULTRAcel Q+.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND SAGGING SKIN

In our younger years, the skin contains a plentiful supply of the proteins collagen and elastin. These structural fibres provide the skin with plumpness and elasticity, however, their production slows down with age. UV damage and other factors, such as a poor diet and smoking, can deplete levels further. A loss of collagen and elastin results in the skin losing its bounciness and it eventually begins to move south… When coupled with muscle weakness and facial volume loss, sagging skin is likely to worsen.

ULTRACEL Q+

Introducing the latest in high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) technology! ULTRAcel Q+ treatments target the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS), the same area treated during surgical facelifts. The SMAS is a sheet of tissue containing fat cells and collagen and elastin fibres, extending from the neck to the forehead. ULTRAcel Q+ delivers HIFU, creating controlled thermal injuries and prompting the body’s natural healing response. During this treatment, collagen and elastin production is stimulated without causing any damage to the surface of the skin.

Using brand-new linear technology, ULTRAcel Q+ treatments are able to deliver energy to a wider target area, which reduces treatment times without compromising results. Tissue contraction generates immediate skin tightening, with results improving as collagen levels continue to rise over the subsequent 3 months. For lasting results, ULTRAcel Q+ treatments should be repeated every 1 to 2 years.

ULTHERAPY

FDA-approved Ultherapy uses ultrasound to stimulate collagen production at a deeper level than other non-invasive treatments. As the device passes over the treatment area, ultrasound energy heats the skin, causing thermal trauma and triggering collagen and elastin production. Over time, skin feels firmer and appears more youthful.

The machine has multiple attachments to treat at a superficial, medium and deep level. Sound wave energy causes the SMAS to contract and shrink, resulting in smooth contours and tightened skin. Using gold-standard technology, practitioners can see the layers of skin that they are treating, ensuring that energy is being delivered precisely to the correct location for a patient’s individual needs.

Ultherapy procedures take around 45 minutes and require no downtime. To treat any facial area, the neck, or décolletage, book a consultation with one of our skincare specialists at The Lovely Clinic.
